Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Doğan has revealed that the club rejected a substantial offer for Nigerian international Paul Onuachu.
Several clubs have made Onuachu a prime target this summer, with Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli reportedly leading the chase. Al Ahli are considering the Nigerian striker as a potential replacement for Ivan Toney, who may return to European football.
The 30-year-old forward delivered a sensational 2025/2026 season, scoring 26 goals and providing two assists in 36 matches. After weeks of intense transfer speculation, Trabzonspor’s leadership have made their stance clear.
In a recent interview, President Doğan revealed that the club turned down a significant bid for the Super Eagles star.
“An offer of close to €20 million came for Paul Onuachu; we did not accept,” Doğan stated, as reported by Turkish outlet Fanatik.
“There is an offer for Paul Onuachu, but he loves the club and does not intend to leave.”
Onuachu also won the league’s Goal of the Season award for his spectacular overhead kick against Konyaspor.
He scored twice to help Trabzonspor beat Konyaspor in the Turkish Cup final in May.For now, the former Southampton striker remains at Trabzonspor, and both the club and the player appear happy with the situation.
However, with the transfer window open, further developments regarding his future could emerge in the coming weeks.
Onuachu is currently with the Super Eagles. He played a key role in their 2-2 draw against Poland and is now preparing to face Portugal in a friendly.
With Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman absent, Onuachu is expected to play significant minutes against a star-studded Portuguese side.
