Breaking! Michelle Alozie’s late strike sends Super Falcons into WAFCON final

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for tje final of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Michelle Alozie’s 94th minute winner over defending champions South Africa sealed Super Falcons place in the final.

Justin Madugu’s side are just one game away from accomplishing a record 10th continental success.

The Super Falcons started the blockbuster tie the better side as they dominated proceedings in the opening half hour.

Despite their dominance, the nine,-time champions struggled to convert their chances as the Banyana Banyana survived the onslaught.

However, captain of the side, Rasheedat Ajibade put Nigeria ahead from the penalty spot just before halftime to register her second goal of the tournament.

South Africa pushed for an equalizer with the start of the second half and restored parity just before the hour mark.

Linda Motlhalo converted from the penalty spot to give the Banyana Banyana the equalizer.

South Africa came close to going ahead in the tie as the Super Falcons showed sloppiness but a goaline clearance by a Nigerian player kept the scoreline the same.

With a minute left in added time, Esther Okoronkwo provided her fourth assist of the tournament as Mhelle Alozie put the ball beyond Andile Dlamini to seal a late win for the Super Falcons.

Nigeria will play Morocco or Ghana for a chance to win their 10th WAFCON title.
