Victor Osimhen scores two goals along with an injury scare in Galatasaray's 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in Turkey.

On September 28, 2024, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen scored his first goal for Galatasaray during the thrilling 3-3 draw with Kasımpaşa on matchday seven of the Süper Lig.

In the 20th minute, the Super Eagles forward scored the first goal at RAMS Park with a header that precisely connected with a cross from Abdulkerim Bardakci.

Eight minutes later, the Napoli loanee struck once more, driving home a fierce shot following a clever feed from Gabriel Sara.

Mauro Icardi scored the third goal for the Lions with an incredible shot that stunned the goalkeeper.

Mortadha Ben Ouanes was substituted in the 31st minute in place of Super Eagles veteran central defender Kenneth Omeruo.

Dries Mertens replaced Osimhen at the beginning of the second half after the Nigerian signaled he should be taken off shortly before halftime due to what looked to be an injury.

Just before halftime, Mamadou Fall gave Kasımpaşa hope as they went to the break down 3-1.

In the second half, Haris Hajradinovic then cut off the lead to one goal, and Nuno Da Costa completed the comeback for Kasimpasa in stoppage time.

Osimhen said in a post-game interview that his injury was not significant.

Test results now indicate whether Osimhen will miss Nigeria’s 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying doubleheader against the Libyan Mediterranean Knights in October.
